A roll core handle (10, 10') is adapted for fitting into an open end of a roll core (50) for supporting the roll core while the roll core is capable of rotating with respect to the handle. The handle includes a hollow holder body (20, 20') having a plurality of side-by-side arcuate wall side segments (22, 22') and a plurality of stiffening ribs (42, 42') formed longitudinally around the holder body, wherein the stiffening ribs (42, 42') are positioned spaced apart to separate the plurality of arcuate segments into groups of resilient core supports (220') adapted for compressive constraint within the roll core for enabling the roll core to be smoothly rotated with respect to the holder body. The handle further includes an integral flange (32, 32') radially and outwardly extend from a proximal end of the holder body.

L'invention porte sur un manchon de retenue (10, 10') conçu pour s'adapter dans une extrémité ouverte d'un mandrin (50) afin de supporter ce dernier, le mandrin pouvant tourner par rapport au manchon de retenue. Le manchon de retenue est formé d'un corps de retenue (20, 20') creux pourvu d'une pluralité de segments courbes (22, 22') juxtaposés à parois latérales et d'une pluralité de nervures de renforcement (42, 42' formées longitudinalement autour du corps de retenue. Les nervures de renforcement (42, 42') sont espacées les unes autres de façon à séparer la pluralité de segments courbes sous forme de groupes de supports (220') rotatifs résilients adaptés pour exercer une contrainte compressive dans le mandrin permettant à ce dernier de tourner doucement par rapport au corps de retenue. Le manchon de retenue comprend également un rebord fixe (32, 32') s'étendant radialement et vers l'extérieur depuis une extrémité proximale du corps de retenue.
