There is provided a handover method for a mobile node (MN) having a mobile IP (Internet Protocol) address in a mobile communication system. When a handover occurs as the MN moves from the area of a first FA to the area of a second FA adjacent to the first FA, the second FA transmits a Binding Update message including the IP address of the second FA and an acknowledgement request to the first FA. In response to the Binding Update message, the first FA transmits a Binding Acknowledge message to the second FA, including a field indicative of the IP tunneling capability of a router connected to a corresponding node (CN) to which the MN connects a call.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de transfert entre cellules pour un noeud mobile (MN) disposant d'une adresse IP de mobile dans un système de communications mobiles. Lorsqu'il se produit un transfert entre cellules alors que le MN transite de la zone du 1<er> agent étranger (FA) à la zone d'un 2<ème> FA adjacent du 1<er> FA, le 2<ème> FA transmet au 1<er> FA un message "Binding Update" incluant l'adresse IP du 2<ème> FA et une demande d'accusé de réception. En réaction au message "Binding Update", le 1<er> FA transmet au 2<ème> FA un message "Binding Acknowledge" incluant un champ indiquant les possibilités de mise en tunnel par protocole IP d'un routeur connecté à un noeud correspondant (CN) auquel le MN connecte un appel.
