A wireless, programmable, sound-activated and voice-operated remote control system which generates and transmits an appliance control signal to a selected appliance in response to a voice command has a speech recognition (50) for recognizing the voice command. The speech recognition circuit (50) has a low power sound activation circuit (40) for detecting the presence of voice signals from the microphone (20) and an audio switching circuit (30) for automatically switching between sound activation mode and speech recognition mode. The present invention may be pre-programmed with a universal library of codes for controlling various appliance categories and appliances produced by various manufacturers within each category.

Cette invention a trait à un système à télécommande, sans fil, programmable, activé par le son et commandé par des signaux vocaux, produisant et transmettant un signal de commande d'appareil en réaction à une commande vocale, lequel système possède un circuit de reconnaissance vocale (50) destiné à reconnaître la commande vocale.
