A tool socket (10) for engagement with a handwheel (30) having any number of external lobes (32) is provided with one or more protrusions (14) on an innersurface (12) for engagement with one or more of said lobes (32) upon rotation of the socket (10). The socket may be power driven and used on handwheels having any number of lobes (32), thereby avoiding regular changing of sockets and helping reduce repetitive strain injury.
