A hanger with swivel arm is adapted for securing a portion of an exhaust system such as a muffler, for example, to an undercarriage of automobile. The hanger has an arm including a proximal J-shaped end and a distal end, a bushing defining an orifice, and a retaining member. The orifice is adapted for receiving the proximal end of the arm so that the proximal end is retainable by the bushing and rotatable therein. The retaining member is configured to mount to the frame of the automobile so that the bushing is fixedly retained thereby. The distal end of the arm may be secured to a portion of the exhaust system. The hanger with the swivel arm allows the use for different sized exhaust system or different portions of the exhaust system.
