Hapten-carrier conjugates capable of eliciting anti-hapten antibodies in vivo by administering, in a therapeutic composition, are disclosed. Methods of preparing said conjugates and therapeutic compositions are also disclosed. Where the hapten is a drug of abuse, a therapeutic composition containing the hapten-carrier conjugate is particularly useful in the treatment of drug addiction, more particularly, cocaine addiction. Passive immunization using antibodies raised against conjugates of the instant invention is also disclosed. The therapeutic composition is suitable for co-therapy with other conventional drugs.
L'invention concerne des conjugués vecteurs de haptène capables de déclencher des anticorps anti-haptène in vivo par administration dans une composition thérapeutique. L'invention concerne également des procédés de préparation desdits conjugués et desdites compositions thérapeutiques. Dans les cas où le haptène est une substance toxique, une composition thérapeutique contenant le conjugué vecteur de haptène est particulièrement utile dans le traitement de la toxicomanie, plus particulièrement de l'accoutumance à la cocaïne. De plus, l'invention concerne une immunisation passive utilisant des anticorps développés contre des conjugués de la présente invention. La composition thérapeutique est adaptée à une co-thérapie avec d'autres médicaments classiques.
