A surgical training system comprising: a virtual environment including a virtual model of a surgical site; a trainer's haptic device for controlling a surgical tool in the virtual environment; a trainee's haptic device for controlling the surgical tool in the virtual environment, wherein the trainee's haptic device applies force feedback in dependence on signals received from the trainer's haptic device; and a controller for scaling the force feedback applied by the trainee's haptic device in dependence on a specified scaling value.

L'invention concerne un système d'entraînement chirurgical comprenant : un environnement virtuel comprenant un modèle virtuel d'un site chirurgical; un dispositif haptique de formateur pour commander un outil chirurgical dans l'environnement virtuel; un dispositif haptique de stagiaire pour commander l'outil chirurgical dans l'environnement virtuel, le dispositif haptique du stagiaire appliquant un retour d'effort en fonction de signaux reçus du dispositif haptique du formateur; et un contrôleur pour pondérer le retour d'effort appliqué par le dispositif haptique du stagiaire en fonction d'une valeur de pondération spécifiée.
