The present invention provides a novel class of hard nano-structured materials comprising sp2 bonded graphite-like layers bonded together by sp3 three-dimensional diamond-like frameworks, wherein the whole carbon structure is stabilized with at least two alloying elements: the first alloying element selected from the group consisting of O, H, N, and a combination thereof, and the second alloying element selected from the group consisting of Si, B, Zr, Ti, V, Cr, Be, Hf, Al, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni and a combination thereof. Also disclosed are methods of manufacture of the novel class of materials.
L'invention concerne une nouvelle classe de matériaux durs nanostructurés comprenant des couches similaires à du graphite liées à sp<2>, liées entre elles par des structures tridimensionnelles de sp3 similaires au diamant, l'intégralité de la structure du carbone étant stabilisée par au moins deux éléments d'alliage. Le premier élément d'alliage est choisi dans le groupe constitué d'O, H, N et d'une combinaison de ceux-ci, et le second est choisi dans le groupe comprenant Si, B, Zr, Ti, V, Cr, Be, Hf, Al, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni et une combinaison de ceux-ci. L'invention porte également sur des procédés de fabrication de ladite nouvelle classe de matériaux.
