A treating agent characterized in that it comprises an organic solvent and, dispersed therein, anatase-type titanium dioxide and a thermoplastic resin, wherein the content of the thermoplastic resin is 0.05 to 20.0 %; a method for surface treatment comprising applying the treating agent to a surface to be coated. The treating agent is used as a hard surface treating agent and a stain-proofing agent. It has stain- and water spot-proofing properties and is easy to handle in application operation, and thus can be used for a vehicle such as an automobile, an aircraft, office furniture, a building and the like.

L'invention concerne un agent de traitement qui comprend un solvant organique et, diffus~ dans ledit solvant, un dioxyde de titane de type anatase et une r~sine thermoplastique, la teneur en r~sine thermoplastique se situant entre 0,05 et 20,0 %. L'invention concerne ~galement un proc~d~ de traitement de surface qui consiste ~ appliquer l'agent de traitement sur une surface ~ recouvrir. Ledit agent est utilis~ comme agent de traitement de surface dure et agent ainti-salissures. Il poss­de des propri~t~s anti-salissures et anti-taches d'eau. De manipulation facile lors de son application, on peut donc l'utiliser pour traiter un v~hicule, par exemple une automobile, un avion, du mobilier de bureau, un b~timent, etc.
