ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for making hard, translucent, high moisture soap bars at 18-27% moisture. These soap bars are produced by varying the conditions of vacuum drying such that the crystalline structure of the soap remains small thereby producing better translucency of the soap pellets. These soap pellets that when compounded through conventional soap finishing equipment produce hard, machinable, high moisture, translucent soap bars.
