TITLE: HARD WATER-TOLERANT DYE SOLUTION ABSTRACT Disclosed are dye baths comprising concentrated solutions of a monosulfonated anthraquinone dye in mixtures of water, generally hard water, and water- miscible organic solvents containing from about 0.03 to 0.20 part of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in anionic form per part of dye, at least 95% of the cations associated with the dye and the ethylene- diaminetetraacetic acid anions being alkanolammonium, the solutions containing optionally from 0.10 to 0.30 part per part of dye of p-aminobenzoic acid, oxydi- aniline, anthranilic acid, p-phenylenediamine or p-aminoacetanilide.
