Provided is a hardness test method for a heavy water reactor vessel. The method includes a) selecting representative portions and specific spots for hardness measurement of a tube sheet mother material of an internal surface of a reactor vessel, b) selecting representative portions and specific spots for hardness measurement of a linear welding part of the atomic vessel, c) selecting representative back-up portions and specific back-up spots for hardness measurement of another linear welding part, other than the linear welding part including the representative portions for hardness measurement selected through operation b), d) measuring hardness of the specific spots for hardness measurement of the mother material, the specific spots for hardness measurement of the welding part, and the specific back-up spots selected through operations a), b) and c), and e) analyzing the hardness measurement results to estimate structural integrity of the reactor vessel. Therefore, it is possible to measure hardness of the reactor vessel while maintaining the structural integrity of the reactor vessel in a field during re-operation with minimal efforts, and quantitatively estimate neutron irradiation brittleness influence on the reactor vessel, thus increasing an operation lifespan of the reactor vessel.
