ABSTRACT The crop gathering table of a combine harvester has a rotatable reel with tines mounted on pivoted reel bars on the reel. Alignments means connected to the reel bars maintains the attitude of the tines with respect to the crop. Each tine is shaped so as to have a downwardly and forwardly extending upper portion so that the lower end of the tine is located in front of its respective reel bar, whereby forward deflection of the tine by heavy laid crop causes the lower end of the tine to lift away from the crop thereby relieving the load on the tine.
