A harvesting apparatus has at least one pair of vibrating shaker head assemblies each with an input and an output member mounted for rotation. A prime mover is coupled to the input member. Rotary motion applied to each input member is converted into a torsional vibration superimposed on the output member, the output members being mounted so as to enable a rotary motion to be superimposed thereon and coupled together so that they have the same rotary motion. As a result, the vibrational movement of one shaker head assembly is balanced with the vibrational movement of the other shaker head assembly.
