A gauging or measuring head for the linear dimension checking of mechanical pieces, including a casing, an arm carrying a feeler for contacting a piece to be checked, a fulcrum coupled to the casing and the arm, for enabling displacements of the arm with respect to the casing, a return spring for keeping the feeler in contact with the piece during the checking, a device for retracting the arm and a position transducer providing signals depending on the position of the arm with respect to the casing. The fulcrum is made of a deformable element including two coupling blocks and three laminae permanently secured to the blocks, and substantially arranged in two different planes of a sheaf of planes.
