Headbox Abstract The nozzle type stock channel (10) (with outlet gap 9) of the headbox isdefined by two flow guide walls (11 and 12). Arranged on the discharge end of the upper flow guide wall 12 is a movable profile bar (13) to which attach numerous adjustments spindles (14) which are arranged distributed across the machine width. Each adjustment spindle (14) has on its end away from the prof- file bar (13) a spindle drive (20). Provided on the upper end of each spindle (14) is a measuring device (15) serving the determination of the local posi- tion of the profile bar (13). Said measuring device (15) has a measuring housing (17) and a measuring element (29) movable in it. The latter is con- nected positively with the profile bar (13), independently of the spindle (14), by way of a measuring rod (16). The measuring housing (17) is positively connected with the area of the flow guide wall (12) on the near side of the profile bar, by way of an oblong tubular measuring reference (19).
