A header and buck system, for making insulated window and door frames including headers in poured concrete walls and buildings, with a built in vapour barrier. The vapour barrier for the header is preferably constructed of a thermoplastic such as polypropylene with members attached at right angles, shaped to hold reinforcing bars, and attached to the side of the vapour barrier furthest from the opening is an insulating material, such as styrofoam. Side bucks are attached to the header, are preferably constructed of a thermoplastic, with pins at right angles going through the attached insulating material. The side bucks are locked into place with a locking plate which fits over the pins, on the side of the side buck furthest from the opening which plate is attached to the reinforcing members of the poured concrete wall. A principal object of the invention is to create a header for windows and doors, whose strength is provided by reinforced concrete, which forms a continuous integral part of a structure constructed by using concrete poured between polymer forms. Another principal object of the invention is to provide a vapour barrier which is integral to the header and bucks, and so locked in place, and which does not have to be installed at a later time after the header is constructed or installed.
