A header processing device include first means for extracting data of each field of a protocol header from a part of a packet containing a header extracted from the packet, and inputting the extracted data into an indicated storage place, a second means for searching by setting the data of the indicated storage place as a search key and outputting the content of a table entry which is coincident with the search key, and third means for creating attribute information of a transmission destination of the packet and header renewal information.
