A headlamp aiming and leveling apparatus for use with a headlamp assembly having a mounting arrangement in the form of a pair of adjacent, spaced slots with an open area therebetween, the slots receiving the aiming and leveling apparatus and the open area permitting viewing of the aiming and leveling apparatus when mounted to the slots. The aiming and leveling apparatus comprises a level member having a viewable indicator. An adjustment member is operatively coupled to the level member for adjusting the position thereof and correspondingly adjusting the indication provided by the indicator. A mounting device mounts the aiming and leveling apparatus in the slot with the level member disposed in the open area.
