A delivery system for delivering a prosthetic heart valve (11) to a native valve site within the human vasculature. The prosthetic valve is disposed on a balloon (252) at the end of a balloon catheter. The balloon catheter passes through a delivery sleeve assembly and handle. A pull wire travels from the handle to a distal end of the delivery sleeve assembly. Actuation of the handle pulls on the pull wire, which causes openings in a slotted tube (20) of the delivery sleeve assembly to close, thus causing the delivery sleeve assembly to bend. A stretchable cover is placed over the slotted tube for biasing the steerable catheter toward a straight position. Once advanced to the native valve site, the prosthetic valve is deployed by inflating the balloon.
L'invention concerne un système d'apport de prothèse valvulaire cardiaque vers un site de valvule native dans le système vasculaire humain. La prothèse valvulaire est placée sur un ballonnet, à l'extrémité d'un cathéter à ballonnet. Le cathéter à ballonnet traverse un ensemble manchon d'apport et une poignée. Un fil de traction se déploie de la poignée vers l'extrémité distale de l'ensemble manchon d'apport. L'actionnement de la poignée produit une traction sur le fil de traction, qui entraîne la fermeture d'ouvertures prévues dans un tube rainuré de l'ensemble manchon d'apport, cette opération ayant pour effet de courber ledit ensemble. Une enveloppe étirable est placée sur le tube rainuré pour solliciter en position droite le cathéter orientable.
