Abstract A method an apparatus for limiting longitudinal stretch during fixation of a harvested aortic root includingvalve leaflets and the product produced. The apparatus includes an inflow plug inserted into the inflow section of the aortic root and having an apertured tube or cannula extending through the valve leaflets to an outflow plug inserted into the outflow section of the aortic root. Apertures in the tube are located on either side of the valve leaflets and the tube is coupled to a fluid inlet, preferably located on the outflow plug. The outflow plug is slidable relative to the tube and is provided with an engagement mechanism such as a setscrew for fixing the location of the outflow plug relative to the tube and the inflow plug. After assembly of the aortic root to the apparatus, the fluid inlet is coupled to a source of defined pressure and the root is inflated. The outflow plug is then fixed relative to the tube to define the maximum elongation of the root and fixative is then delivered to the interior of the root via the apertured tube.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil destiné à limiter l'extension longitudinale au cours de la fixation d'une racine aortique prélevée comprenant des valvules et le produit qu'elle produit. L'appareil comprend un bouchon d'amenée introduit dans la section d'amenée de la racine aortique et un tube ouvert ou une canule s'étendant à travers les valvules vers un bouchon de sortie introduit dans la section de sortie de la racine aortique. Les ouvertures ménagées dans le tube sont situées sur les deux côtés de la valvule et le tube est couplé à une entrée de fluide de préférence situé sur le bouchon de sortie. Le bouchon de sortie peut être coulissé par rapport au tube et comprend un mécanisme de couplage notamment une vis sans tête destinée à fixer la position du bouchon de sortie par rapport au tube et au bouchon d'amenée. Après assemblage de la racine aortique à l'appareil, l'entrée de fluide est couplée à une source possédant une pression définie et la racine est gonflée. Le bouchon de sortie est ensuite fixé par rapport au tube en vue de définir une élongation maximale de la racine, puis un fixateur est ensuite introduit dans la racine via le tube muni d'ouvertures.
