An HME unit (50) including a housing (52) an HME media (54), and a check valve assembly (56). The housing (52) forms a first port (58), a second port (60), and an intermediate section (62) defining first and second flow paths fluidly connecting the first (58) and second ports. The HM media (54) is maintained within the intermediate section (62) along the second flow path. The check valve assembly (56) includes an obstruction member (80) movably positioned within the intermediate section (62) to selectively provide opened and closed positions. In the opened position, the first flow path is open relative to the obstruction member (80). In the closed position, the obstruction member (80) closes the first flow path. In one mode, the obstruction member (80) transitions to the opened position in response to gas flow in a flow direction from the second port (60) toward the first port (58), and transitions to the' closed position in response to gas flow in an opposite flow direction.

Linvention concerne une unité d'échange de chaleur et d'humidité (50) comportant un boîtier (52), un milieu déchange de chaleur et dhumidité (54) et un ensemble clapet (56). Le boîtier (52) forme un premier orifice (58), un second orifice (60) et une partie intermédiaire définissant un premier et un second chemins découlement permettant de connecter de manière fluidique lesdits premier (58) et second orifices. En position ouverte, le premier chemin découlement est ouvert relativement à lélément dobstruction (80). En position fermée, lélément dobstruction (80) ferme le premier chemin découlement. Dans un mode, lélément dobstruction (80) passe en position ouverte en réponse à lécoulement du gaz dans une direction découlement allant du second orifice (60) en direction du premier orifice (58), et passe en position fermée en réponse à lécoulement du gaz dans une direction opposée.
