ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A portable power tool includes an electric motor, the armature shaft of which is journalled at one end in a bearing supported in a single piece support body made from sheet metal, the latter having integrally formed central shoulder and collar segments. The collar and central segments extend concentrically about the axis of the armature shaft with the collar segment being spaced radially outwardly from the central segment with the shoulder segment extending transversely to the axis and connecting the central and collar segments. The bearing is received in the central segment. The power tool has a thermo- plastic housing having a tubular bridge segment integrally formed internally thereof and arranged concentrically with the armature axis. This bridge segment includes a radially inwardly directed flange with a rib segment extending axially therefrom to define an annular cavity internally of the tubular bridge segment. The collar segment is engaged in and supported by the bridge segment with one end of the collar segment engaging in the annular cavity. The bridge segment includes means for captivating the support body, the latter being captivated axially between the annular cavity and the captivating means whereby the sheet metal support body functions both to support the bearing and to provide a heat sink therefor.
