ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a heat exchanger com- prising a stack of parallel, perforated plates adapted to permit flow of a first fluid substantially perpendicularly to the plane of the plates, the plates being interconnected in a fluid-tight manner along their outer periphery to form the outer wall of a stack like vessel for the fluid passing through the plates, and distribution and collection chambers for said fluid arranged in direct communication with the outermost plates in said stack.
