ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A heat exchanger for effecting heat exchange between a first medium and a second medium, comprises a plurality of adjacent spiral tubes for passage of a first medium and a spiral baffle forming a plurality of ducts between or around the spiral tubes, the ducts being for passage of a second medium, the baffle having at least one overflow opening providing communication between radially adjacent lengths of at least one duct.
