A heat exchanger includes a first header and a second header and a plurality of heat exchange tubes extending therebetween. Each heat exchange tube has an inlet end opening to one of the headers and an outlet opening to the other header. Each heat exchange tube has a plurality of channels extending longitudinally in parallel relationship from its inlet end to its outlet end, each channel defining a discrete refrigerant flow path. The inlet end of each of the plurality of heat exchange tubes is positioned with the inlet opening to the channels disposed in spaced relationship with and facing an opposite inside surface of the header thereby defining a relatively narrow gap between the inlet opening to the channels and the facing opposite inside surface of the header. The gap may function either as a primary expansion device or as a secondary expansion device.
La présente invention se rapporte à un échangeur de chaleur, qui comprend un premier collecteur, un second collecteur, et une pluralité de tubes d'échange de chaleur s'étendant entre les deux collecteurs. Chaque tube d'échange de chaleur possède une extrémité d'entrée donnant sur l'un des collecteurs et une extrémité de sortie donnant sur l'autre collecteur. Chaque tube d'échange de chaleur comporte une pluralité de canaux parallèles s'étendant dans le sens longitudinal de l'extrémité d'entrée à l'extrémité de sortie, chaque canal définissant une voie d'écoulement de réfrigérant distincte. L'extrémité d'entrée de chaque tube de la pluralité de tubes d'échange de chaleur est disposée de manière que l'orifice d'entrée donnant sur les canaux soit espacé d'une surface interne opposée du collecteur et soit placé face à cette dernière, ce qui définit un espace relativement étroit entre l'orifice d'entrée donnant sur les canaux et la surface interne opposée du collecteur. Ledit espace peut faire office de premier détendeur ou de second détendeur.
