ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connecting member for connecting free ends of heatable hoses which are heated by way of heaters extending lon- gitudinally in or along the hose walls. The connecting member includes an elongated connecting body having an outer surface and opposite ends for insertion into the interior of the hoses at the respective free ends of the hoses. The material at the outer surface of the connecting body in the respective end regions of insertion into the interior of the respective hoses is graduated in thickness, with the thick- ness increasing in the direction of travel of the hose when the connecting body is inserted into the respective hose interior. An encasing tube is provided which is divided along its longitudinal axis into two half shells. The half shells include fastening devices for fastening one half shell to the other for covering the free ends of the hoses to be connected. The interior circumference of the half shells has pressure webs for forming a clamping connection with the end regions of graduated thickness of the connecting body when the half shells are fastened together covering the free ends of the hoses connected together by the connecting body.
