A heat and energy recovery ventilator support structure is described allowing the easy insertion and removal of a heat or energy recovery ventilator core while maintaining an airtight seal. In the energy recovery ventilator, a plurality of supply passages in communication with a supply air flow is in cross-flow with an exhaust passage and a recirculation passage in communication with a plurality of exhaust airflows. Metal rails are fixed to the energy or heat recovery core and the support members for the enthalpy or heat recovery core are made of a permanent magnetic gasket, which prevents leakage and contamination of the supply airflow by the exhaust airflows.
