- 1 - SPECIFICATION HEAT PIPE APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A heat pipe apparatus for heating application is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a main tube filled with a heat transfer or working fluid, a heat source extending through the main tube to vaporize the working fluid, a secondary tube communicated with the main tube by conduit pipe means to define a closed space in the apparatus in which the working fluid undergoes the cycle of vaporization and condensation to give off heat to the surrounding air passing upwardly through evenly spaced fins attached to the main and secondary tubes. The main and secondary tubes are arranged in parallel with one another and disposed substantially horizontally with the conduit pipe means extending upwardly so as to allow the air to pass upwardly by natural convection through the fins on each tube as the air receives the heat therefrom. In a preferred version, the fins on secondary or upper tube are spaced along the length thereof at a wider spacing than those on the main or lower tube such as not seriously impede the upward flow of the air by natural convection through the fins on the lower tube, thus making the best of the main tube to efficiently release as much amount of heat therefrom and as well to release additional amount of heat from the upper tube in order to increase the total amount of heat released from the whole apparatus.
