IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO HEAT PUMPS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is disclosed of transferring heat in a reversible direction between two separate fluid currents using a heat pump having a cold circuit comprising evaporator, compressor, condenser and throttle valve. The cold circuit is operated constantly in the same direction for the heating and cooling operations. The separate fluid currents are adapted to be switched alternately into heat exchange with the evaporator and condenser in order to transfer heat from one fluid current to the other fluid current.
