ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Heat reclaiming apparatus for use with a refrigeration system has an inlet pipe for connection to a refrigerator com- pressor and for delivering hot gas discharged from the compressor to a first outlet pipe for connection to an exterior condenser and a second outlet pipe for connection to a heat reclaim con- denser employed to heat a space. The outlet pipes are each pro- vided with a valve operable to discontinue the flow of the hot gas therethrough under the control of a temperature sensing device responsive to the temperature in the heated space, the arrangement being such that the hot gas flow to the heat reclaim condenser is discontinued and diverted to the exterior condenser when the tem- perature of the space reaches a predetermined value. A bypass valve connected between the inlet pipe and the first outlet pipe and provided with a valve controlled by a pressure switch is operable to divert a portion of the hot gas flow from the inlet pipe through the bypass pipe to the exterior condenser when the rate of discharge of the gas by the compressor exceeds that which can be absorbed by the heat reclaim condenser.
