A therapeutic slipper having a sole and an upper portion for accepting a foot incorporates a heating device in the toe region. The heating device is connected to an electrical circuit, which comprises at least on battery period. The heel portion of the sole has a cavity therein for receiving the battery with a lower surface of the sole having an opening into the cavity. A temperature sensor is located at the toe region of the interior and is in contact with the wearer's toe. The sensor measures the temperature of the toe and regulates the activity of the heating device.
