HEAT RELEASABLE ASSEMBLY OF MEMBERS CONNECTED BY A FUSIBLE ALLOY Abstract of the Disclosure In an overload heat coil assembly for overload protectors in telecommunications systems, a copper rod is positioned in the bore of a brass sleeve, an annular gap between rod and sleeve being filled with a fusible alloy, which melts and permits relative axial movement between rod and sleeve on overloads. Problems exist in obtaining good bonding between the fusible alloy and the copper rod and brass sleeve, because of rapid oxidation which occurs on copper and copper containing metals. By plating the rod and sleeve with a particular bright acid tin, over bright acid copper, plated in temperature controlled solutions, good bonding is obtained with undesirable affects of the fusible alloy by this tin plating. - i -
