ABSTRACT A high heat high impact resistant resin is prepared by blending a high impact polystyrene, a copolymer of a vinyl aromatic monomer and .alpha.-methylstyrene, and a styrene grafted rubber concentrate. Said copolymer is prepared by anionically polymer- izing the vinyl aromatic monomer, especially styrene, and the .alpha.-methylstyrene at a temperature above the ceiling temperature of the .alpha.-methylstyrene. The blend may contain compatible polymers, especially high molecular weight general purpose polystyrene.
