Disclosed is a molded or extruded thermoplastic article having high heat stability over at least 500 hours at least 170 ° including a thermoplastic composition including a thermoplastic resin, one or more polyhydric alcohols having more than two hydroxyl groups and a having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of less than 2000, one or more reinforcement agents, and optionally, a polymeric toughener; wherein 4 mm test bars prepared from said thermoplastic composition, and exposed at a test temperature at 170 ° for a test period of 500 hours, have, on average, a retention of tensile strength of at least 50 percent, as compared with that of an unexposed control of identical composition and shape. Further disclosed is a molded or extruded ther-moplastic article, including a thermoplastic polyamide composition, wherein 4 mm test bars of said thermoplastic polyamide com-position, when exposed at 210 ° for a test period of 500 hours, have a retention of tensile strength of at least 70 percent.

Cette invention concerne un article thermoplastique moulé ou extrudé ayant une forte stabilité thermique sur au moins 500 heures à au moins 170 °C comprenant une composition thermoplastique contenant une résine thermoplastique ; un ou plusieurs polyols ayant plus de deux groupes hydroxyle et un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre (Mn) de moins de 2 000 ; un ou plusieurs agents de renfort ; et éventuellement un solidifiant polymère ; des barres de test de 4 mm étant préparées à partir de ladite composition thermoplastique, et étant exposées à une température test de 170 °C pendant une période danalyse de 500 heures ont en moyenne une rétention de la résistance à la traction dau moins 50 pour cent par rapport à celle dun témoin non exposé de composition et de forme identiques. Linvention concerne par ailleurs un article thermoplastique moulé ou extrudé, contenant une composition polyamide, des barres de test de 4 mm de ladite composition polyamide thermoplastique, exposées à 210 °C pendant une période danalyse de 500 heures, ayant une rétention de la résistance à la traction dau moins 70 pour cent.
