The present invention relates to sulfonate containing water-dispersible or water-dissipatible sulfopolyester compositions. The sulfopolyesters utilize at least two dicarboxylic acids, one of which is a naphthalene dicarboxylic acid. This combination of dicarboxylic acids allows for the sulfopolyesters to maintain glass transition temperature (Tg) of greater than 89 °C and exhibit lower melt viscosities than sulfopolyesters containing all naphthalenediyl units or all isophthtaloyl units. The sulfopolyesters of this invention are useful in applications where improved heat and blocking resistance is required.
L'invention porte sur des compositions de sulfopolyesters dispersibles dans l'eau additionnées de sulfonates. Lesdits sulfopolyesters se composent au moins de deux acides dicarboxyliques dont l'un est un acide naphtalène dicarboxylique. Cette combinaison d'acides dicarboxyliques, qui confère aux sulfopolyesters des températures de transition vitreuse (Tg) supérieures à 89 °C, présente une viscosité à l'état fondu inférieure à celle de sulfopolyesters ne contenant que des unités naphtalénédiyle ou que des unités isophthtaloyle. Les sulfopolyesters objets de cette invention s'avèrent utiles dans des applications requérant une plus grande résistance à la chaleur et au blocage.
