ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a heat responsive valve arrangement for a fire extinguisher, the valve being positioned between the siphon tube and the hand valve of a conventional fire extinguisher. The valve comprises a body portion having a central bore through which a flow of fire extinguishing substance may pass when the extinguisher is operated in the normal manner. A secondary discharge tube, the more of which communicates with the central bore of the valve body, extends from the side of the valve. That discharge tube carries a nozzle, the discharge orifice of which is closed by a cap held in place with a fusable metal alloy. The tube is such that it can be directionally orientated to position the nozzle towards a location where a fire may occur. When subjected to the heat of a fire, the fusable alloy will melt, releasing the cap and permitting a flow of fire extinguishing substance to be discharged to the source of the fire, thereby extinguishing same.
