A direct heating type heat-roller for fixing a toner image is improved to have more uniform temperature distribution on the cylindrical outer surface. The electrically conductive ceramic composite for the heat-roller essentially consists of insulating ceramics and Si particles, whose purity is 90% or more. Pores in the ceramic composite are isolate and equiaxed and 20 µm or less in average diameter.
