HEAT SEALABLE FILM LAMINATE ABSTRACT An oriented, heat sealable polymer film laminate, useful as a packaging material, comprises a polypropylene core layer, and a first heat sealable surface layer for receiving a water-based coating provided on one surface of the core layer, the first surface layer being formed from a polymer selected from an ethylene-propylene- butene-1 terpolymer, an ethylene-propylene random copolymer and a blend thereof, the polymer being compounded with an anti-blocking agent but being substantially devoid of silicone oil. A second surface layer is provided on the other surface of the core layer and is formed from a polymer selected from an ethylene-propylene-butene-1 terpolymer, an ethylene-propylene random copolymer and a blend thereof. The polymer of the second surface layer is compounded with an anti- blocking agent and a silicone oil such that a coefficient of friction- reducing amount thereof is present on the exposed surface of the first layer as well as the exposed surface of the second layer following mutual contact of said surfaces.
