An inflator comprising a housing having an integrally formed mounting flange adapted to be heat-sealed directly to an inflatable article. A sleeve is injection molded in-situ inside the housing in which a pierce pin assembly is reciprocatably mounted within a central bore thereof. The sleeve within the housing allows the wall thickness of the housing to be significantly reduced and assures that the escaping gas from the cylinder always contacts the housing material. The sleeve includes a skirt extension with a socket defining the blind hole for receiving the end of the pivot pin of the firing lever to allow the injection-molding of a blind hole for the pivot pin without the need for subsequent drilling of the hole.

Un gonfleur comprenant un logement ayant une bride de montage formée intégralement adaptée pour être thermo-soudée directement à un article gonflable. Un manchon est moulé par injection in situ à l'intérieur du logement dans lequel un ensemble de broche percée est monté de manière réciproque dans un alésage central de celui-ci. Le manchon dans le logement permet de réduire considérablement l'épaisseur de paroi du logement et garantit le contact entre le gaz qui s'échappe du cylindre et le matériau du logement. Le manchon comprend une extension de jupe avec une douille définissant l'orifice borgne pour recevoir l'extrémité de la broche de pivot du levier d'allumage permettant le moulage par injection d'un orifice borgne pour la broche pivot sans qu'il soit nécessaire de percer davantage le trou.
