ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A machine for receiving and automatically sealing one end of a sausage casing using a heat sealing process. The machine comprises a mechanism for gripping and rotating one end of the sausage casing so as to twist the sausage casing. Heat is applied to the twisted portion of the sausage casing so as to heat seal the end of the sausage casing. The heat sealed portion is severed leaving a short protruding length of heat sealed casing.
