An improved heat sensitive cut-off for blocking the flow through a gas conduit or the like of the type comprising first and second cut-off members disposed in the conduit which co-operate to block flow through the conduit when they are brought together. The first cut-off member has a socket therein. A spring biases the cut-off members together, and a spacer between the cut-off members for separates them to permit flow through the conduit. The spacer has a portion penetrating partway into the socket in the first cut-off member. A plug of a relatively low melting point material is located in the bottom of the socket for temporarily preventing the spacer from penetrating further into the socket. The socket and the spacer are configured so that when the plug melts the spacer can penetrate further into the socket sufficiently that the spring can move the cut-off members together to block the flow through the conduit. The first cut-off member and the spacer are secured together mechanically or with an adhesive to prevent them from separating and interfering with the proper operation of the cut-off.
Cette invention concerne une soupape de sectionnement thermosensible amélioré servant à couper l'alimentation en gaz ou autre produit analogue. Il s'agit d'une soupape du type ayant un premier et un second organes de sectionnement placés dans une conduite pour bloquer ensemble lorsqu'ils sont réunis l'écoulement du produit dans ladite conduite. Le premier organe de sectionnement comporte une douille. Un ressort pousse les deux organes de sectionnement l'un contre l'autre et un écarteur placé entre les deux sert à les séparer pour rétablir la circulation dans la conduite. L'écarteur comporte une section qui pénètre partiellement dans la douille du premier organe de sectionnement. Un bouchon à point de fusion relativement bas disposé au fond de la douille empêche l'écarteur de pénétrer plus avant dans cette dernière. La douille et l'écarteur ont une configuration telle que, lorsque le bouchon fond, l'écarteur peut pénétrer suffisamment plus avant dans la douille pour que le ressort puisse plaquer les deux organes de sectionnement l'un contre l'autre et causer ainsi l'arrêt de la circulation de produit dans la conduite. Le premier organe de sectionnement et l'écarteur sont assemblés l'un à l'autre par voie mécanique ou à l'aide de colle pour empêcher leur séparation intempestive et le mauvais fonctionnement de l'ensemble.
