ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A heat-sensitive recording material has a support and a color-developing layer which contains a colorless basic chromogenic dye comprising at least one particular fluorane- type leuco dye and a particular divinyl compound. This heat- sensitive recording material is superior in thermal response, light resistance, weather resistance, oil resistance and optical readability in the near infrared region. The flourane-type leuco dye has the formula: Image (I) [wherein at least one of R1 - R9 is a group of the formula: Image , and the remainders of R1 - R9 are hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, cycloalkyl, halogen, nitro, hydroxy, amino, aralkyl or aryl, T1 - T3 are hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl T4 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or phenyl, or T3 and T4 together with the adjacent nitrogen atom form a cyclic amino, and 1 is 0 to 4]. The divinyl compound has the formula: Image (II) R10 is alkyl, R11 is alkyl, cycloalkyl optionally substituted benzyl, or optionally substituted phenyl, X1 and X2 are alkyl, alkoxy, F, Cl, or Br, m and n are 0 to 3, X is Cl or Br, provided that at least one of X3 in (X3)4 is Br]. The chromogenic dye may also comprise a fluorene-type leuco dye.
