A heat shield adapted to protect an engine mount is disclosed. The heat shield has a substrate positionable substantially surrounding the engine mount. The substrate has a heat reflecting surface facing outwardly away from the engine mount to block radiant heat transfer to the mount. An attachment member is attached to the substrate. The attachment member is positionable between the engine and the engine mount to fix the substrate in position. The invention further concerns a method including providing a heat shield formed of a flexible substrate, forming the substrate so as to surround the engine mount with the heat reflecting surface facing outwardly from the engine mount and attaching the substrate to the engine mount.
La présente invention a trait à un bouclier thermique apte à la protection d'un support de moteur. Le bouclier thermique comporte un substrat apte à être positionné sensiblement autour du support de moteur. Le substrat présente une surface réfléchissante de la chaleur tournée vers le côté opposé au support de moteur pour le blocage du transfert de chaleur radiante vers le support. Un organe de fixation est fixé au substrat. L'organe de fixation est apte à être positionné entre le moteur et le support de moteur pour fixer le substrat en position. L'invention a également trait à un procédé comprenant la réalisation d'un bouclier thermique constitué d'un substrat flexible, la conformation du substrat pour entourer le support de moteur avec une surface réfléchissante de la chaleur tournée vers l'extérieur depuis le support de moteur et la fixation du substrat au support de moteur.
