ABSTRACT Cable-fittings made of contractible material, use sealing systems comprising adhesive layers, which become active under the action of heat, and of a sealing insert made of a permanently plastic material, the sealing insert being arranged between two adhesive layers. Thus the necessary mechanical strength is provided by the adhesive layers, while sealing against humidity is provided by the permanently plastic sealing insert. These sealing systems may be used both for cable-entries or lead-ins and in the closure areas of cable-fittings
