Heat-shrinkable cap comprising a heat-shrinkable tube sealed at one end by heat recovering said end of tube over a dimensionally stable, solid plug. The tube and plug are mutually weldable under heat, or are bonded together, thereby providing an air and water-tight seal at the sealed end. The open end of the cap may be internally coated with adhesive to provide an air and water-tight seal over an object such as a cable-end when the cap is heat recovered over said object.

Cette invention concerne un capuchon thermorétractable formé d'un tube en matériau thermorétractable dont un des bouts est scellé par chauffage sur un bouchon plein à retrait et dilatation nuls. Le tube et le bouchon se soudent ensemble sous l'effet de la chaleur pour constituer une fermeture parfaitement hermétique. L'intérieur de l'extrémité ouverte du capuchon peut être enduit de colle pour former un joint parfaitement hermétique autour d'un objet tel qu'un câble après application de chaleur.
