A coiled metallic wire is made flat to make adjacent ring units (11a, 11b) of the coil in close contact with each other, and thus a fin (11) is formed. Fins (11) are arranged such that flat surfaces (111) of the fins are perpendicular to a heat conductive substrate (10) to form a heat sink (1). Thus the heat sink can be produced at low cost and efficiently. A novel heat sink excellent also in heat radiation ability can be provided.
