A heat sink material, which is composed of an alloy or a composite material including two or more kinds of elements and is provided with at least an end plane by which an edge part can be formed for mounting a laser element. A method for manufacturing such heat sink material, and a semiconductor laser device provided with such heat sink material are also provided. The heat sink material (10) is composed of the alloy or the composite material including two or more kinds of elements, has a relatively large area main surface and a relatively small area sub-surface intersecting the main surface. The sub- surface includes a surface to which electro-discharge machining is performed by arranging discharge wire (200) substantially parallel to the main surface. The method for manufacturing the heat sink material (10) is provided with a step of arranging the discharge wire (200) substantially parallel to the main surface on materials (100, 50), and a step of performing the electro-discharge machining to the materials (100, 50) by using the discharge wire (200) arranged as mentioned above.

L'invention concerne un matériau de radiateur composé d'un alliage ou d'un matériau composite incluant deux ou plusieurs types d'éléments et qui est doté d'au moins un plan d'extrémité grâce auquel une partie de bordure peut être formée en vue de l'installation d'un élément laser. Un procédé de fabrication dudit matériau de radiateur et un composant laser à semi-conducteur doté dudit matériau sont également prévus. Le matériau de radiateur (10) est composé de l'alliage ou du matériau composite incluant deux ou plusieurs types d'éléments, présente une surface principale d'aire relativement importante et une sous-surface d'aire relativement petite coupant la surface principale. La sous-surface inclut une surface sur laquelle un usinage par électroérosion est effectué en disposant un câble de décharge (200) de manière pratiquement parallèle à la surface principale. Le procédé de fabrication du matériau de radiateur (10) est prévu avec une étape consistant à disposer le câble de décharge (200) de manière pratiquement parallèle à la surface principale sur les matériaux (100, 50) et une étape consistant à effectuer l'usinage par électroérosion sur les matériaux (100, 50) en utilisant le câble de décharge (200) disposé comme mentionné ci-dessus.
