ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Thermal stability of vinyl chloride polymer is im- proved by use of a compound of the formula Image wherein R1 is aryl or lower alkyl-substituted aryl; R2 is hy- drogen or lower alkyl; n is 1 or 2; find Rs is hydrogen or lower alkyl when n is 1 and is alkylene of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or thiodiethylene when n is 2, alone or in combination with a divalent metal salt of a fatty acid of 12-20 carbon atoms.
