ABSTRACT This invention is a heating and cooling wall panel that accomplishes heating by radiating to bodies in a space thermal energy from a sourse of warmed water delivered to the panel at low pressure, and cools bodies in a space by absorbing thermal energy radiated to the panel from those bodies and passing the heat thus gained to a cooled fluid also delivered at low pressure. The heat transfer by this panel is accomplished when only small temperature differentials exist between the fluid and the space owing to the extreme thinness of the radiating-cum-absorbing panel face which serves to separate the space and the fluid, and owing also to the thermal connection of this thin sheet to an element which intimately embraces the fluid within the panel core. This internal element also imparts strength to the active face sheet permitting this sheet to be very thin indeed. The use of an essentially direct flow path for the fluid behind this sheet permits the fluid to be passed through the panel at very low pressure, further relieving the panel face of withstanding inordinate internal pressure thus further permiting the thinness of the face sheet. The combination of these conditions makes possible a heat transfering panel which is simple in design and operation, is light, easily constructed and installed, inexpensive, and functions efficiently with fluid only slightly warmed or cooled and delivered at low pressure, thereby rendering this panel ideal for a vast number of energy saving application.
